The aim of the investigation is to define the efficiency of special exercises in sprint and volleyball. Methods used included goniometry with subsequent reckoning of the rate of changing muscles length. As a result, the analysis of correlations of rates of the strain of large buttock wide lateral and flat-fish type muscles in trackandfield athletes and volleyball players in competitive and special exercises revealed the following indices: - of all modelled special exercises only the squatting with 60 kg weight on TARB(training apparatus of regulated burden) with 50% increasing burdening can be considered as an efficient special exercise in the course of training highlyqualified sprinters; - in the process of training volleyball players such special exercise as the squatting on TARB with burdening of different types can be considered as an efficient means of developing muscles rate qualities of hip - and knee- joints; - one and the same special exercise (high jump without any burden) can have on the one hand a high efficiency in speedpower training athletes of the same kind of sport (e.g. volleyball) and on the other hand a low one - in speed - power training athletes of another kind of sport (e.g. sprint).
