New and old names on ceramic stamps of Chersoneses Taurica and Sinope

The paper analyzes S. Yu. Vnukov and N. V. Efremov’s publication of new stamps from the excavations at the Kara-Tobe settlement in Western Crimea. It corrects errors made by the authors and amends the legends restored on the stamps. Some stamps that were declared by the authors as new had been published before. Possible revival of a magistracy of astynomoi in Sinope after it ceased to function is rejected. The paper concludes that the material for publication should be prepared more carefully.
