New data on the sites of the early iron ageand migration period on the Upper Moskva river

All five explored sites of the Upper Moskva Region and the Protva river headrevealed layers dating to the end of the 1st century BC - 3rd century AD; net-impressed pottery dated to the middle-end of the 1st mill. BC was found at the sites of the Upper MoskvaRiver, while artefacts of the 4th - 6th centuries AD were retrieved from three sites. The newfinds expand the boundaries of the Late Dyakovo and the Moshchino cultures. The area ofthe sites containing comb-stamped pottery was also expanded to include the area reachingMozhaisk in addition to the Middle Moskva River region.
