Address of S. L. Frank in Nizhny Novgorod

The famous Russian philosopher Semyon Ludwigovich Frank spent his childhood in Moscow, but graduated from gymnasium in Nizhny Novgorod. However, exactly where his family lived in Nizhny Novgorod, to this day remained unknown. In the published diaries of the philosopher, as well as in his epistolary heritage, memoirs of relatives or local history literature, the author did not meet the exact address of Frank’s residence in Nizhny Novgorod. This was an incentive to seek indirect evidence and generalize the available data on this issue in order to fill the gap. The article reflects the progress and search results for the address of S. L. Frank during his stay in Nizhny Novgorod.
