Certain aspects of modern forms of participation of civil society in law enforcement

Introduction: in the article, the author points to the importance of the influence of civil society institutions on the social, economic, political and legal processes taking place in the state. Stresses the relevance of the usage of modern technologies in the participation of citizens, the prospects of the usage the activities of public associations formed in social networks in order to ensure public order, prevent and suppress crime. Materials and Methods: as a concrete example, the case of usage the software "FindFace" by members of the Internet community to find the perpetrators of the offence has been considered: ways of interaction, used modern technical means and results have been considered. Results: based on the specific example considered, the author came to conclusions about the progressive possibilities of the Internet space for interaction of citizens, including for the purpose of carrying out law enforcement activities. Other possible examples of such interaction are considered. The signs of civil society, which were reflected in the integration of people into the Internet community, and mechanisms of possible legal regulation of such relations were studied. Discussion and Conclusions: a conclusion was drawn on the possibility of improving civil society institutions, their prospects and positive impact on law enforcement.
