The article is dedicated to N. Grundtvig’s writing about the union between the Danish empire and the Swedish empire in the beginning of the nineteenth century. The complicated foreign policy situation for Denmark in 1810s mobilized country to the obvious union with Sweden. Because of the death of the Swedish crown prince, the Danish governing House of Oldendurg’s member, Sweden addressed to Jean-Baptiste Bernadotte, the French Marshal and the idea of the Danish representative on the Swedish throne did not actualize. For creation of the Danishphile movement in Sweden, a number of pamphlets were published, one of them by Grundtvig. Сonsidering the pamphlet, a few characteristics should be specified. Firstly, Grundtvig suggests the union of two kingdoms as natural and essential thing, talking about their cultural and historical past. Grundtvig involves actively literary and mythological matter, that he had collected during his studies and teaching. The author of the pamphlet handles with historical facts rather liberally in pursuit of the concrete intention - the attempt at inspiring the Swedes by obtainable tools. The pamphlet did not reach its goal; the Swedish reaction was quite lowly. Nevertheless, N. Grundtvig appeared as a Scandinavian patriot, talented orator and writer.
