Motivation and motives of juvenile offenders

The article presents the results of the theoretical and methodological analysis of the problem of the motivation sphere of juvenile offenders. The relevance of the presented topic is due to the fact that the problems associated with the deviant behavior of minors attract special attention of scientists and are constantly considered in both domestic and foreign scientific works (G. S. Prygin, I. V. Sevastyanova, E. A. Parygina, S. A. Belicheva, I. V. Ivannikova, N. S. Kurek, V. D. Mendelevich, V. N. Ivanchenko, A. G. Asmolov, S. N. Enikopolov, A. V. Leontiev, R. V. Chirkina et al.). Nevertheless, despite the large number and high level of research devoted to the study of the personality of a minor with deviant behavior, it is necessary to state a lack of work devoted to this problem. In the main, either motives, or value orientations, or attitudes toward certain forms of deviation of adolescents are considered. In this regard, and taking into account the current trends in the development of social psychology, firstly, we consider it necessary to use elements of a systematic approach to the study of the problem of deviant behavior of minors and, secondly, note the special value of studying the motives and motivations of adolescents in order to prevent deviations in behavior.
