Sea rescuers of the far eastern shipping company: emergency rescue training and exercises, 1957-1993

The article deals with the history of planning and conducting emergency rescue training and exercises by the specialists of the Expeditionary Rescue Team of the Far Eastern Shipping Company in the late 1950s - 1993. The main purpose of the exercises was to increase the readiness of the Team to conduct search and rescue operations for distressed ships and crews and to provide them with the necessary assistance in extreme conditions. The author concludes that, despite the lack of material and technical equipment, the marine rescuers of the Far Eastern Shipping Company systematically raised their level of emergency rescue skills, taking part in exercises of various levels and types in cooperation with other organizations and institutions.
