Mythopoetics of «Mister Twister»: between children’s literature and political didactics

The article examines the folklore and mythological level in S. Marshak’s long short story in verse «Mister Twister», the ways this level is manifested in the text and its function. Mythological components of the images of Cook, gigantic baggage carriers, American space and an episode of sleep are analyzed.
