The article presents the results of a study, determining the effectiveness of specially selected poses use, taken from yoga in combination with breathing exercises in the training process of aesthetic gymnastics sportswomen, performing in the category "juniors" (girls 14-16 years old) at the stage of sports improvement. The authors have developed a methodology aimed at increasing the level of stress resistance and mental reliability in highly qualified gymnasts. The main means were poses (asanas) from yoga (to increase muscle tone - half-tilt forward from a standing position, portioned breathing through the nose in a free body position, as well as for relaxation - a downward-facing dog pose, a corpse pose) in combination with breathing exercises aimed to increase stress resistance in the process of competitive activity.
