Critical theory of society today

Horkheimer and Adorno are generally known as the founders of the Frankfurt School, the authors of the critical theory of society, which is “pragmatized” today by many researchers. However, we often forget that the specifics of the formation of this critical approach is based on Kant’s epistemology, Descartes’ “doubt” and Montaigne’s “skepticism”.
