Purpose: To analyze institutional consolidation of the right to individual liberty in the legal system of the Russian Federation. Methodology: Systematic, comparative and ntegrated approaches were used, as well as method of modelling. Results: A classification of legal acts in the sphere of proclaiming and securing the right to individual liberty is proposed and the structure of each of the classified groups of regulatory legal acts is substantiated. The content of the rights to individual liberty, to freedom of movement is analyzed, as well as the prohibition of forced labor in Russian legistlation. The analysis of the limits of the authority of the Russian Federation and its subjects in the issues of ensuring the right to individual liberty is carried out. The problems of the existing mechanisms for the implementation of the provisions of the analyzed legal acts are identified. Novelty/originality/value: The article has scientific value and practical significance, since it carries out not only an analysis of the enshrining of the right to individual liberty in the country’s legislation, but also substantiates the problems of its implementation.
