The publication provides a new version of the Analects, book 4 translation along with Zhu Xi’s commentary and translators’ introduction. Being a summary of Neo-Confucian thought Zhu Xi’s reading clarifies many ideas of Confucian ethics and became a necessary part of Confucian philosophy and education.
