Clinical-dynamic characteristics of bipolar affective disorder comor-bid with mental disorders

Study aim was to assess frequency of comorbid mental disorders in bipolar affective disorder (BAD), their influence on diagnostics and the main clinical-dynamic characteristics of BAD. The main methods of research: clinical-psychopathological, clinical-follow-up, statistical. 71 pateints with verified diagnosis of bipolar affective disorder (according to criteria of ICD-10) were examined. Results of research indicated a high level of comorbidity of BAD with other mental disorders (49.3 %). BAD in case of comorbidity with other mental disorders was characterized by more frequent repetition of affective phases, predominance of mixed episodes and a later detection in comparison with BAD without indicated comorbidity.
