Освещены вопросы эмбриогенеза и постнатального формирования грудной клетки. Приведена современная классификация различных типов деформаций грудины и ребер. Четкая идентификация отдельных аномалий, а также понимание процессов антенатального и постнатального развития грудной клетки позволяют оптимизировать выбор сроков и методов лечения пациентов с данной патологией.
