К вопросу о гендерном парадоксе в суицидологии - современный контекст

Обсуждение суицидов среди мужской и женской части населения нельзя сводить исключительно к так называемому суицидальному парадоксу. Несмотря на то, что мужчины заметно чаще погибают от суицида, а женщины чаще совершают попытки, эти различия нивелируются в разных возрастных группах. Если рассуждать с позиций суицидального поведения, включая в это понятие и мысли, и замыслы, намерения, попытки, и собственно суицид, различия становятся ещё менее заметными. В различных социокультурных контекстах эти различия вообще отсутствуют. Судя по многим признакам, суицидальность женщин сильно недооценена, и их меньшая смертность только маскирует ситуацию. Обсуждая такие факторы риска, как нарушения психического здоровья, роль стресса, толерантность к боли и многие другие, приходится констатировать, что почти во всех случаях трудно отделить влияние биологических и социальных факторов, поскольку они тесно взаимодействуют между собой. Повышение экономической активности женщин во второй половине прошлого века в странах Запада и их большее вовлечение в трудовые отношения в целом сопровождалось благоприятными сдвигами как среди мужчин, так и среди женщин. Однако ультрасовременные тенденции в продвижении концепции гендера как социального пола, дополняющего (а в ряде случаев отрицающего) биологический пол, как свидетельствуют данные, не улучшают показатели с суицидальным поведением и тех, и других. Проблема половых и/или гендерных различий суицидального поведения далека от разрешения, многочисленные сложности в интерпретациях и оценках очень затрудняют получение объективной картины.
