The estimate is given to the final data of the clinical and experimental psychological examination of annual medical psycho-prevention check-ups conducted for the Russian Interior Ministry officers in the Kirov region. The peculiar feature of the syndrome of emotional burnout among chief police officers is the formation of tension and resistance phases with symptoms of sustaining psycho-traumatic circumstances and expansion of energy saving sphere. They are characterized by the isolation or aggressiveness outside professional activities, that is in relation to family members. Professional duties and problems are in their focus, and the family fades into the background, which leads to conflicts, divorces, problems in the service and mental distress, and reduces their professional and personal reliability. The authors suggest that chief police officers should be rendered an integrated multiprofessional assistance by psychotherapists, clinical and social psychologists at mental health centres, using family psychotherapy and relaxation trainings to prevent divorces and borderline mental disorders.
