The article discusses the pedagogical bases of teacher's economic competence formation as a factor for his professional self-development. The teacher's economic competence becomes one of the leading criteria in evaluating his adaptation to new realities, one of the ways to solve the problem of improving and achieving the specified quality of teacher training education, competitiveness and professional mobility of teachers within the labour market.
