The history and development of the classification system for the construction industry

The introduction of BIM in construction is one of the priorities of the current tasks of the Ministry of Construction and the Russian housing and communal services until 2024. Necessary to develop classification systems to start using BIM on the state level. This article presents a review of the history and development of classification systems from Samarbetskommitten for Byggnadsfragor and ending MasterFormat. The focus of the article is on the Swedish classification system SfB and its British successor CI / SfB. Within the framework of this article, an analysis was made of the basic classification tables of the considered classification systems. The history of the emergence of the MasterFormat classifier and a number of other classification systems was also considered. The conclusions that the data classification systems are not suitable for use as a reference classification systems to create a national classifier construction information.
