Historical aspects of the russian state security providing

The author examines the process of Russian system of the state security formation, functions, powers and the role of organs which are responsible for its safeguarding at different historical periods. Besides, there is the analysis of approaches to the definition of the term “state security”, its interconnection with the terms “security” and “national security”.
