Research of crack resistance metals

This article discusses the problems arising in the process of determining the characteristics of crack resistance (toughness) of plane-strain KIc, in accordance with GOST 25.506-85. A method is proposed for determining fracture toughness with using small samples with chevron notch. The paper describes the experimental testing method and comparative analysis of crack resistance characteristics, obtained by the standard method and in samples with chevron notch.
