Introduction. The available description of the wanted person appearance will make it possible to shorten the time to find him, therefore, an investigator faces the task to assist an eye-witness to recollect personal features through various methods. Materials, Results and Discussion. When making a subjective portrait at the first stage an investigator studies the person, his psychological peculiarities using different methods: associations according to similarity, in contrast, in comparison with various objects and phenomena. The second stage consists of direct making of a portrait. At the final stage an investigator documents the actions of making a portrait. Conclusions. Usage of psychological peculiarities of a person, verbal and para-verbal information as well as the methods of describing personal appearance will make complex composing of a subjective portrait and crime solution possible.
