The article reveals psychological and educational aspects of using multimedia presentations as one of the means of adaptation of first-year students to the studying process in the higher educational institution. The conditions of effective use of presentations in the course of studying and their influence on the formation of character traits of students are described, recommendations on organizing autonomous work of students are given.
