For many years the State has paid little attention to tourism infrastructure in Lake Baikal. Valuable natural resources of Siberian land played the primary meaning in the economy, and sable pelt was one of them several decades ago. The first State Nature Reserve, Baguzinsky, was established particularly for protection of this mammal from total extinction on the Northeastern shore of Lake Baikal more than 100 years ago. Since its foundation the state entities had continued this approach to managing Lake Baikal shore, creating areas with strict regime for ecosystem and protecting spesies within nature reserves. Only in the late Soviet period Zabaikalsky and Pribaikalsky National Parks were opened. Tourism development was one of their primary tasks. However rapid shifts in the society were limiting their attempts and results. The Federal Government tried to make fundamental changes by establishing special economic zones, but this experiment failed. Reorganization of management bodies for Federal protected areas brought a new impulse in solving challenges of tourism development. In order to fulfill this task, the FSE "Zapovednoe Podlemorye" conducts projects of construction and modernization tourism infrastructure on different sites or destinations, including the Svyatoy Nos peninsula. The article analyses some financial results of the infrastructure during the first years of service.
