Hospitality industry: the study of career development opportunities

The article highlights the problems of personnel development and features of career growth and personal development in the hospitality industry. The authors discuss in details the concept of "career", which is a complicated mechanism to meet the specific needs of not only professional growth, but also the individual growth throughout a person's life. The article analyzes the scientific literature, explores career functions, and features of its construction. The phases of career growth and the most significant of them are traced in the article. The possible models of career development and the algorithm for creating a “career-gram” are described. Particular attention is paid to the specifics of the study sphere, consisting in the fact that a career focused on building relationships with people, therefore, not everyone will be able to achieve high results in building a career. It is noted that education plays a significant role in the hospitality industry, as during the learning and the practical training a student defines for herself or himself, is it possible for him or her to build a career in this field. The article shows the relevance and practical importance of the qualitative approach to career development in hospitality in the city of Irkutsk. The article is focused on the leaders of the hospitality industry and their career. Designation of the major factors influencing the career development is the purpose of the work. Based on the research results the authors make a conclusion, allowing to create the conditional portrait of an employee of enterprises in hospitality, which has made a successful career and took a leadership position in the hospitality enterprise.
