The concept of Big Data become extensively popular for their vast usage in emerging technologies. Despite being complex and dynamic, big data environment has been generating the colossal amount of data which is impossible to handle from traditional data processing applications. Nowadays, the Internet of things (IoT) and social media platforms like, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, WhatsApp, LinkedIn, and YouTube generating data in various formats. Therefore, this promotes a drastic need for technology to store and process this tremendous volume of data. This research outlines the fundamental literature required to understand the concept of big data including its nature, definitions, types, and characteristics. Additionally, the primary focus of the current study is to deal with two fundamental issues; storing an enormous amount of data and fast data processing. Leading to objectives, the paper presents Hadoop as a solution to address the problem and discussed the Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS) and MapReduce programming framework for storage and processing in Big Data efficiently. Future research directions in this field determined based on opportunities and several emerging issues in Big Data domination. These research directions facilitate the exploration of the domain and the development of optimal solutions to address Big Data storage and processing problems. Moreover, this study contributes to the existing body of knowledge by comprehensively addressing the opportunities and emerging issues of Big Data.

Effective Software development is a very complex task. When this task span over large geographical regions with different cultures, it becomes very critical maintaining every task and making proper co-ordination among them. For coming decades, considering different web technologies and other emerging technologies, developers will need a robust and secure development environment for proper combination with collaboration tools having existing social and technical elements. Again this software engineering environment should ensure participation of individuals such a way that their potential get full force workable mode. This environment should also face time critical project management issues having high risk at different stages. Fast and cost effective development also requires use of off the shelf resources. In this paper, a software engineering environment is proposed for coming days considering all these issues hoping that, it will serve as a primary standard of development environment while meeting all demands of developers.

The fixed communication interruption easily occurs in extreme disaster situation, so it needs a robust mobile Ad hoc wireless communication to deliver the rescue information with high quality and efficiency. But the widespread excessive energy consumptions loaded in mobile Ad hoc wireless routing network have become the restriction bottleneck of its application. Based on the routing protocol of AODV, this paper proposed a routing algorithm of AODVSE energy-saving protocol, and studied its effects of the working performance on mobile Ad hoc wireless network. The simulation results showed that the AODVSE protocol could be better to improve the energy-saving performance than AODV and DSR protocols by reducing the routing expiration time and the routing load and extending the network lifetime, in order to help to implement the accurate and immediate rescue.

Local colleges should emphasize on the strategic direction of becoming "Qualified Undergraduate Colleges ", be master of advanced experiences as a strategic tool, and continue to optimize the core operating process, so that it can reflect the organizational rules and logic of colleges to calculate the “outside-system” differentiated capabilities, rather than apply the logic of administrative mechanism. At the same time, we use managing environment as “optimal solution” to the strategic innovation of college, positively impact and systematically manage the diversified college industrial environment and bring forward the organizational guarantee mode.

Information Society requires every individual to have information application ability. Higher education is in charge of cultivating human resources who not only master specialized knowledge, but also have information application ability to solve problems with computer technology. Based on analyzing characteristic of information literacy, this paper develops a course to train the information analysis and application ability for undergraduate students, describes the constructed knowledge modules in an information system, teaching and evaluating mechanisms in detail. Teaching practice indicates it is an available and effective avenue to information literacy.

Cloud computing is a mechanism for allowing effective, easy and on-demand network access to a shared pool of computer resources. Instead of storing data on PCs and upgrading softwares to match your requirements, the internet services are used to save data or use its apps remotely. It perform the function of processing and storing a database to provide consumers with versatility. For specialized computational needs, the supercomputers are used in cloud computing. Because of execution of such high performances computers, a great deal of power devoured and the result is that certain dangerous gases are often emitted in a comparable amounts of energy. Green computing is the philosophy that aim to restrict this technique by introducing latest models that would work effectively while devouring less resources and having less people. The basic goal of this study is to discuss the techniques of green computing for achieving low power consumption. We analyze multiple power management techniques used in the virtual enviroment and further green computing uses are mentioned. The advantages of green computing discussed in this study have shown that it help in cutting cost of companies, save enviroment and maintain its sustainability. This work suggested that researchers are becoming ever more invloved in green computing technology.

The purpose of this study was to examine academic procrastination behavior among higher vocational college students and explore the predictability of such variables as academic self-efficacy, academic frustration tolerance, achievement motivation, grade and gender. 440 students from two higher vocational colleges were taken as subjects. The results showed that (1) 41.6% of the subjects exhibited a high level of academic procrastination. (2) Students in Grade Three procrastinated more often than students in Grade One. (3) Male students showed more academic procrastination behavior than female students. (4) Academic self-efficacy, academic frustration tolerance and motive to avoid failure were desirable predictive variables for academic procrastination. (5) High procrastinators’ academic self-efficacy, academic frustration tolerance and motive to approach success were significantly lower than those of low procrastinators’, but their motive to avoid failure was significantly higher than that of low procrastinators’.

This study basically investigates the current motivation to use Facebook as a supportive tool for e-learning in a higher education institute of Pakistan. Faculty interviews are conducted to collect the opinions about Facebook as learning and teaching tool. Also statistics on a subject based Facebook page and a group designed for undergraduate students are presented. It has been concluded that Facebook can play its role to facilitate e-learning as more than a social networking website. It is analysed that participation and engagement of students on Facebook page and group is quite optimistic to use it as a supportive tool in future. Results can also help learners and teachers to understand the importance and effects of using social networking website for e-learning.

A social network is a social structure made up of a set nodes, which represents social actors (such as people, organizations), and edges or lines represents relationship between these nodes or actors. Social networks have important roles in the dispersal of information and innovation, the analysis of such networks, attracted much attention in the research area. The analysis of social network can be done as a whole, which means the representations of all of its actors and identification of structures, present in that social network, that lead to the presence of communities. In the method of community detection, the main aim is to partition the network into dense regions of the graph, and those dense regions typically correspond to entities which are closely related, and can hence be said to belong to a community. In any complex network, communities are able to exchange and offer information because members in one community have similar tastes and desires. The determination of such communities is useful in the context of a variety of applications in social-network analysis, including customer segmentation, recommendations, link inference, and vertex labeling and influence analysis. This paper presents a survey on community detection approaches, which have already been proposed, and also discussing the type of social networks on which those proposed approaches are applicable. This survey can play a significant role in the analysis and evaluation of community detection approaches in different application domains.

Sentiment analysis, also known as opinion mining, is referred to the studying and analyzing of people's opinions, emotions, sentiments, appraisals, evaluations and attitudes about an entity like an organization, product, service, issue, individual, event, topic, etc. and about their properties. It denotes a major problem part. While in Technical industry, the name, sentiment analysis is generally used, but in academic institutions, both terms, 'sentimental analysis' and 'opinion mining' are frequently used. They, unitedly represent the unique field of study. The term 'sentiment analysis' was first appeared in (Nasukawa and Yi, 2003) probably, and the term opinion mining was first appeared in (Dave, Lawrence and Pennock, 2003). In spite of the previous researches on sentiments and opinions published earlier, they become more prominent after this date. Opinion mining and its related fields, for example, estimations, feelings, assessments, and states of mind are the subjects of investigation of slant examination and sentiment mining. The commencement and quick development of the field agree with those of the online networking on the Web, e.g., audits, gathering dialogs, web journals, microblogs, Twitter, and interpersonal organizations, in light of the fact that without precedent for mankind's history, we have an enormous volume of stubborn information recorded in computerized frames. We are working on accessing data from various data sources available online, including the various social networking sites, blogs or forums available. By using the provided APIs (of the respective site) and the web crawler mechanism, we will generate the outcomes and use them as a representation for users. Users can access the data represented in the forms of graphs and charts to analyze the behavior of the public on a particular brand, topic, issue or product.

For any educational institution course or teacher evaluation is an integral part for the betterment and effective education system. Student’s feedback could be taken as one of parts of teacher evaluation. This paper has tried to evaluate the effectiveness of the course teacher evaluation system from the students’ feedback of their corresponding courses. At Stamford University Bangladesh currently the teacher’s evaluation task is running by manually which is very time consuming, slow and a lengthy process. It also needs number of human resources for completing this task. This paper has presented a web based automated tool for Course Teacher Evaluation System (TTE). In this technique student’s opinions are taken from some predefined questions in a web based platform for evaluating a teacher of any particular course. And the result from the data analysis is automatically generated along with a graphical representation. From the generated report it becomes very easy for the teacher to understand and focus on the area where they need to emphasize for their personal and professional growth. As the results are generated automatically from the survey it saves time as well as man power.

A Weighted Relational Classification Algorithm Based on Rough Set is proposed in this paper. The relations of tables are classified in database, relational graph is converted into 0 - 1 matrix, the weight is calculated using UCINET; at the same time, different condition attributes are weighted differently by using attribute frequency of Rough Set. It is improved effectively. Experiments have proved that new classifier has good classification performance.

A bug tracking system or defect tracking system is a software application that keeps track of reported software bugs in software development projects. A penetration test, colloquially known as a pen test, is an authorized simulated attack on a computer system that looks for security weaknesses. The use of the above two paradigms is very famous in the software development industry. Many researches have managed to expose some problems like manual testing, report generation, etc which the developers might face if these are not used properly. There is a plethora of software’s that offer different kinds of solutions to the problems but somehow they lack one thing or the other. The objective here is to address these problems where the solution is using the bug tracking systems and penetration testing in an architectural manner. This would be done by using an already existing solution and then improvising upon it.

Today E-commerce websites provide customers with the needed product information by giving various kinds of services to choose from. One such service is to allow the customer to read the end user online reviews. Online reviews contain features which are useful for the analysis in opinion mining. Converting these unstructured reviews into useful information require extracting the product features from them. Natural Language Processing (NLP) based technique extracts various kinds of product features including the low frequency features. Topic Modeling based approach also identifies specific product features from the online reviews. The effective number of product features is made available to the customer when these two approaches are combined. This results in the expanded product feature set so that the customer makes wise decisions without having to compromise on the feature set.

The aim of this study is to find an efficient and robust model for building temperature information systems in South-East Nigeria. The study obtained daily mean temperature data records for a period of 10years of the capture cities of Enugu, Abakaliki and Owerri, and applied the data to several forecasting models: 3 & 4 point moving averages (MA), the Single Exponential Smoothing (SES) and the time dependent regression model for intercept and non-intercept models as well as linear and non-linear models. The comparison of various forecasting models was made based on the following performance evaluation methods: F-values, Mean Square Error (MSE) and Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) where applicable. The findings show that the power model with statistical characteristics of F-values = 1513.71(Enugu), 1523.622(Abakaliki) and 1514.103(Owerri), MSE = 0.655(Enugu), 0.6495(Abakaliki), and 0.5925(Owerri), and RMSE = 0.80524(Enugu), 0.80292(Abakaliki) and 0.76703(Owerri), is the best model for temperature information systems because of its consistency in minimizing errors, and largeness of F-values. This is followed by the single exponential smoothing technique and logarithmic model. This study therefore presents and recommends the power regression model as the most robust model for temperature forecasting in South-East Nigeria.

The universes’ most complex structure is the human brain. To analyze its characteristics, many studies and experiments have been carried out in a proper and systematic manner. From these researches and experiments, scientists have learnt to communicate with computer using brain and hence, BCI has been developed. A Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) provides a communication path between the human brain and the computer system. With the advancement of information technology and neuroscience, there has been a flow of interest in turning fiction into reality. This research investigated existing works of BCI with the purpose developing a system that allows physically challenged people to communicate with other persons and helps to interact with the external environments with the help of computers. Components like, comparison of invasive and non-invasive technologies to measure brain activity, evaluation of control signals (i.e. patterns of brain activity or brain waves that can be used for communication), development or improvement of algorithms for translation of brain signals into computer commands, specific frequency components like electroencephalography (EEG), artificial neural network (ANN) etc. are used to accomplish such a feat. With such, the developments of new BCI applications are emerging every day.

Chronic kidney disease is an important challenge for health systems around the world and consuming a huge proportion of health care finances. Around 85% of the world populations live in developing country of the world, where chronic kidney disease prevention programs are undeveloped. Treatment options for chronic kidney disease are not readily available for most countries in sub-Saharan Africa including Ethiopia. Many rural and urban communities in Ethiopia have extremely limited access to medical advice where medical experts are not readily available. To address such a problem, a medical knowledge-based system can play a significant role. Therefore, the aim of this research was developing a self- learning knowledge based system for diagnosis and treatment of the first three stages of kidney disease that can update the knowledge without the involvement of knowledge engineer. In the development of this system, the following procedures are followed: Knowledge Engineering research design was used to develop prototype system. Purposive sampling strategies were utilized to choose specialists. The information was acquired by using both structured and unstructured interviews and all knowledge’s are represented by using production rule. The represented production rule was modeled by using decision tree modeling approach. Implementation was employed by using pro-log tools. Testing and evolution was performed through test case and user acceptance methods. Finally, we extensively evaluate the prototype system through visual interactions and test cases. The test results show that our approach is better to the current ones.
