The characteristic of disability of the children in industrial region

We studied general and primary disability of the children 0–17 years of age in industrial cities with a high technogenic load and rural area with the less significant technologenic load, as well as a whole on the Lugansk region during the period of 1996–2011. In region, industrial cities and rural areas, among the causes of general and primary children’s disability the congenital anomalies (Q00-Q99) take the 1st place, the 2nd place – diseasеs of the nervous system (G00G99), the 3rd place – mental and behavioral disorders (F00-F59), the 4th place– diseasеs of eyes and supplementary аpparatus (H00-H59). In the industrial cities, especially in Alchevsk with the large enterprises of black metallurgy and coke-chemical production, diseasеs of endocrine system, nutritional and metabolic diseases, which is largely determined by adverse environmental conditions and other factors of the urban environment. In Alchevsk the disability of children for the reasons diseases of the blood and blood-forming organs, cerebral palsy of children, diseases of eyes and supplementary аpparatus, diseases of the digestive system, musculoskeletal system and connective tissue is caused by the influence of technogenic environment. There is a statistically significant pattern of increasing disability by reason C00-D48, E00-E90, H00-H59, H60-H95, L00-L99, M00-M99, N00-N99 and Q00-Q99 classes of diseasеs, but especially, C00-D48, E00-E90 and Q00-Q99 classes, and in Alchevsk оf D50-D89 class.
