The topic of a precise definition of the Church's boundaries is important, relevant and socially significant. Spiritual, organizational and institutional boundaries of the Church do not coincide with each other clearly. Different religions take different approaches to the definition of their borders. The Orthodox Church canonically defines three degrees of removal of breakaway religious groups: unauthorised gathering, schism and heresy. The order of spiritual return depends on the degree of spiritual removal. It could be repentance, anointing and baptism. Taken as a basis the principles of determining relations with apostates, the Orthodox Church also defines the moral boundaries with other religions, churches and denominations. Religious conflicts in a society often arise in the form of "border conflicts". Traditional religion, as a rule, are well informed in all details of their religious doctrine. This allows to clearly determine the boundaries among them, taking place primarily in the minds of believers. Totalitarian sects and new religious movements often have no established religious teachings. In their missionary activity, they often use the ignorance of the audience and illegally claim to the conformity of its teachings to the teachings of traditional religions. Proselytism, the use of unfair methods of manipulation in missionary work, is one of the main causes of religious conflicts. A broad education in the field of traditional religious teachings seems to be an effective way of preventing religious conflicts arising from the lack of a clear understanding of the Church boundaries.
