Relevance: сurrent conditions require that the government and business to step up activities aimed at improving the functioning of the economy, where a significant impact is the state support in the development of public-private partnership (PPP) for the majority of spheres of society and, in particular, the tourism industry at the federal and regional levels. Objective: to identify and justify theoretically the problems and directions of development of public-private partnership in the tourism sector at the federal and regional levels. Tasks: expand theoretical and economic substance, forms of interaction and mechanisms of state-private partnership. Identify problems impeding the development of public-private partnership in the tourism sector in the Russian Federation. Define terms of addressing public-private partnership in the tourism sector at the federal and regional levels. Identify the key problems of the development of regional tourism. Suggest ways of solving the problems identified and to evaluate the effectiveness of the results. Methodology. The study used a complex methodology based on a systematic, structural and process approaches as the scientific methods of knowledge to the solution of problems of development of ecological tourism. Working with primary sources and statistical base relied on the application of the comparative analysis and synthesis. Results: the article reveals the essence and content of the public-private partnership, the problems are identified, defined the direction and objectives of the development of public-private partnership in the tourism sector at the federal and regional levels. Conclusion. Interaction of the state and business in public-private partnership is one of the promising areas to intensify the development of tourism and hospitality industry today. This is possible through the further improvement of the legislation, preservation of dialogue between the authorities and the business community, creative and productive work of specialists in the field.
