Hermeneutics as a main methodological strategy of cultural-historical epistemology: Paul Ricoeur and Aron Gurevich

Бесплатный доступ

The author tries to show distinctive features of hermeneutics as a methodological strategy analyzing the experience of two prominent scholars - a philosopher Paul Ricoeur and a historian Aron Gurevich. They both took different roads in their studies in humanities: Ricoeur treated interpretation as a generalized construing strategy of any text, while Gurevich developed it as a research strategy for individual historical phenomena and personalities. Their mutually reinforcing comparison forms a problem of cultural-historical epistemology of humanities.
