Gender inequality in career choice

This article examines the issues of gender inequality in the Russian Federation. Despite the provisions stipulated in Article 64 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation on the freedom to dispose of one's ability to work regardless of gender, race, skin color, rationality, language, origin, property, family, social and official status, age, place of residence, including the presence or absence of registration at the place of residence or stay. This is currently not fully realized, in particular, the inequality of women and men in choosing the type of activity and profession. The author makes an attempt to understand the norms of labor legislation in the context of their compliance with the norms of international legislation regulating labor relations, excluding labor discrimination among the female population.
