Vladivostok press during the World War I, 1914-1916

Basing on the documents of the Russian State Historical Archive of the Far East, the article deals with the periodicals of Vladivostok during the World War I. The author analyzes the political orientation of the local press, the relationship between different newspapers and their attitude towards local authorities. The author concludes that the war had a huge impact on the Vladivostok press: due to the economic difficulties and problems with censorship by 1917 only two of six newspapers published in the city managed to survive.
