The article is devoted to the current problem-the study of events in the development of gastronomic festivals of the Republic of Dagestan, the identification of gastronomic preferences of tourists. This problem is poorly studied and it requires further research. The article analyzes scientific research in the disclosure of the concept of gastronomic, event tourism. The author identifies and describes the characteristic features of the national cuisine of Dagestanis, substantiates the idea that culture influences the local cuisine, forms special preferences, develops certain rules of eating. The research methodology includes the analysis of statistical and analytical data, methods of collecting primary information and further studies of the obtained information. The author pays special attention to the disclosure of the role of gastronomic festivals in introducing tourists to the national cuisine of Dagestan, the active work on their organization and conduct of the Ministry of tourism and folk arts of the Republic of Dagestan is noted. The Republic has already developed an event calendar, which includes gastronomic festivals. On the basis of the research: analysis of the event calendar, opinion poll guides, the author notes the necessity of organizing and conducting culinary festivals of national cuisine, which will promote a positive image of the region, the inflow of financial resources, will be of interest of tourists to Dagestan. In conclusion, it is noted that despite the positive dynamics in the development of domestic tourism, it is necessary: to systematically conduct sociological research to identify the gastronomic needs of tourists; to develop a gastronomic map of the Republic of Dagestan; to expand the events in the event calendar of the Republic of Dagestan for gastronomic festivals. Holding gastronomic festivals will contribute to the growth of employment, reduce unemployment, improve material well-being, the development of the economy of the region. The article will be of interest to specialists in the field of tourism and hospitality.
