The article is devoted to the analysis of the functions of the graphic equivalent in the texts of the poetess E. Mnatsakanova. The analysis of scientific works devoted to the graphic equivalent of the text showed an insufficient study of this phenomenon in modern poetry, despite the fact that it is one of the key tools for organizing the visual space of the page and is embodied in the work of such poets as G. Sapgir, Vs. Nekrasov, G. Aigi, V. Druk, A. Khvostenko, E. Mnatsakanova. The books and poems by E. Mnatsakanova were considered as empirical material: «Steps and sighs: four books of poetry» (1982), «Vita Breve: from five books. Selected Works» (1988), «ARCADIA» (2004), «New Arcadia» (2018). The article presents the following options for the embodiment of the graphic equivalent in the texts of Mnatsakanova: dots, underlines, combinations of underscores and apostrophes, iconic signs. The article emphasizes the connection between the graphic equivalent of the text and the verbal component of the text. The two main functions performed by the graphic equivalent in the poems of the poetess are iconic, characterized by the ability to replace or supplement the verbal text, and in some cases - to illustrate, and intonation-score, marking the intonation of the text.
