The article is an attempt to logically reconstruct the system of philosophical views of one of the representatives of Russian schellingianism, the romantic writer V. F. Odoevsky. Despite the fundamentally fragmentary nature of Odoevsky’s philosophical works, his thinking was characterized by a strict system, the basis of which was the pantheistic principle of the unity of God and nature, spirit and matter. Using the example of this Russian lubomudr’s solution of the philosophical problems of truth and error, good and evil, beauty and ugliness, the author shows the internal contradiction of the pantheistic worldview, which invariably led from absolute unity to pluralism, from absolute truth to an epistemological and ethical relativism.
