The aim is to summarize the information available in modern domestic and foreign literature on glomerulonephritis (GL) associated with viral infection in childhood. Virus-associated glomerulonephritis is considered to be nephritis, in which the etiological and/ or pathogenetic role of viral infection has been established. The association of glomerular lesions with viruses leads to a torpid course of GN, the development of resistance to hormonal and cytostatic therapy, and a worsening of the prognosis. The etiopathogenetic role of viruses is proved using immunoserological, immunohisto- and cytochemical, molecular biological research methods using various biological materials, including a renal biopsy.
