The article is devoted to the processes of differentiation and specification of pedagogical activities in modern higher schools. It is proved that in information society the number of information channels and the amount of scientific information have considerably increased. This caused the need to differentiate and specify the work of an educational specialist and introduce such professions as designer, facilitator, tutor, and invigilator. Such approach shall improve the quality of education and competence in teaching.
