Business games as an optimization factor of the educational process in the teaching of the discipline "Olympic education"

The present study considers conditions for the realization and special aspects of business games as one of the interactive teaching methods of students of the level of a bachelor’s degree at the educational direction 43.03.02 «Tourism» in the implementation of the discipline «Olympic education». The article describes the features of organization and giving business games, including the availability of a wide range of simulation forms of teamwork, including discussions, deliberation, analysis, preparation of recommendations, etc. The results of the study made it possible to establish that implementation of business games in the teaching of the discipline «Olympic education» allows to optimize the educational process by reducing the time for the achievement of the students’ professional competence, acquisition of communication qualities, accumulation of necessary experience for the conduction of the forthcoming professional activities, finding the necessary strategic solutions to current issues, tasks and problems of the modern Olympic Movement and etc. Business games among the range of teaching methods used in practical exercises within the educationalmethodical complex «Olympic education», developed by the authors of the article, assumes the formation of the general cultural competence among students which consists in the development of the ability to self-organization and self-education. The article contains the recommended topics (anti-doping, fair play, peacemaking mission of Педагогика 134 №2 l 2018 sport, Olympic legacy and etc.), as well as organizational aspects of the conduction of business games: participants, tasks, goals and objectives, expected results, etc. Thus, the practical implementation of such a form of students’ interactive work along with other tools and methods, which are used within the educational-methodical complex «Olympic education», allowed to promote familiarization with the ideals and values of Olympism, to follow the fundamental principles of the Olympic Charter and to increase the activity and formation of professional position.
