This article analyzes the current socio-economic situation in the regions of Russia caused by the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as examines the dynamics of business development in various sectors of the economy, the reduction of employment, and effective measures to support Federal and regional authorities. The problem of determining the most effective tools for implementing regional socio-economic policy in the context of the crisis remains relevant in the current conditions, and scenarios for further development of the situation, including in the post-crisis period, are being developed and searched for. Improving the effectiveness of anti-crisis management and implementing compromise decisions of the government, business and society is becoming a priority for the authorities. In the context of the large-scale spread of a new coronavirus infection, it is necessary to analyze the experience of managing a country and regions in the context of global crises, such as economic depression, wars, and post-war economic recovery. A feature of the current situation is a decrease in income and a sharp reduction in liquidity, especially in the most affected sectors of the economy, which has created serious threats of mass withdrawal from the market of small firms that do not have reserves, a break in production ties and a sharp increase in unemployment.
