Antihypertensive therapy in patients with metabolic syndrome

The features of arterial hypertension in patients with metabolic syndrome are described. The goals of antihypertensive therapy in metabolic syndrome and the tactics of lowering blood pressure, as well as the problem of making a reasonable choice of an antihypertensive drug, are considered. The characteristics of the main antihypertensive drugs are given, algorithms for their use are presented, depending on the clinical situation. The advantages of combination therapy for arterial hypertension in metabolic syndrome are substantiated, possible combinations of antihypertensive drugs and their potential use are considered.
