Analysis of Chinese internet language vocabulary in terms of word formation

The article focuses on the main ways of word formation, such as word composition, affixation, morphemic contraction and conversion, used in the formation of Chinese Internet language vocabulary, and analyzes some new ways of word formation, which are common only to the Internet language: homophonic words (hieroglyphic and numerical), reduplication forms, rewriting of the hieroglyph through its components. The author identifies productivity of all word formation ways on the basis of «Xinhua Chinese Internet language dictionary».
