Analysis of the effectiveness of student-centered approach in the implementation of olympic education in physical training students of pedagogical universities

The article analyzes the survey results that had been carried out among the students of Kuban State University with the purpose of revealing their interest in the issues of Olympic education with the subsequent formation and adoption of technology student-centered physical education and the introduction to the values of the Olympic movement and healthy lifestyle. Author proposes a two-tier program of student-centered applied Olympic education that takes into account professional interests of the students, studying in various faculties. The program had been tested within the elective course "School of volunteerism." Authors takes as a basis of the experimental approach the presupposition that the quality of the Olympic education can be improved if the following organizational and pedagogical conditions are satisfied: combination of Olympic education with the subjective interests of the students; combination of Olympic education with the subjective interests of the of students, studying in various specialties; integration of Olympic knowledge in training; taking into account the features of future activities; organization of educational process on the basis of the leading Olympic values - friendship, perfection, respect; implementation of case-studies, which helps to involve the students in a collective activity and requires manifestation of knowledge in practice. These conditions take into account the individual characteristics of students and focused on the development of complex subjective important Olympic knowledge, including the possibility of practical application in the future professional activity. Research result confirmed authorial presupposition: organizational and pedagogical conditions of student-centered Olympic education integrated into the process of physical training of students of various faculties and specialties allows to form totality of value orientations, interests, abilities and skills, on the basis of which the appropriate behavior, style of human and society life are generated.
